ESL Classes for Adults

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE CLASS

The ESL (English as a Second Language) program is for people who do not speak English as their first language and want to learn English to get a job, get a better job, go to college or vocational school, or to become a United States citizen.

Naomi Ennis is the teacher for the adult ESL (English as a Second Language) class at Del Paso Heights Elementary School.

The adult ESL class is on Fridays from 12:45 - 2:20 p.m. in Room 1.

The classes are free and open to any adults.  They can register in class on the first day.  The classes are flexible in that they are not required to attend class on both days if they are not able to.  Also, some parents aren’t able to stay the entire class period, and that is OK.  Children are allowed as long as they don’t become too disruptive.

FREE / NO COST
No childcare is provided, but you can bring your children if they can play quietly.

CONVERSATION WITH THE PRINCIPAL/PARENT UNIVERSITY

The first Friday of every month there will be a "conversation with the principal" at the start of the day. This will be immediately followed by Parent University. These meetings will serve as an opportunity for Mr. Macias to share important and useful information with the school community in an informal setting. Parents will also have the opportunity to share important information with the principal during these conversations. The meetings will start at 8 a.m. in Room 1 (Parent Center) on the first Friday of the month. The next meeting is on September 1.

2017-18 Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program Grant

Our students will receive fresh fruit and vegetable four times a week. The purpose of the grant is threefold: to create a healthier school environment; to expand the variety of fruits and vegetables that children experience and consume; and to make a difference in children's diets that will impact their present and future health. The fresh fruit and vegetables will be consumed either before or after lunch. If you have any questions about the grant, please talk to Mr. Macias.
