Fifth grade students from Mr. Gathing, Mr. Phung, and Mr. Schmiegel's classrooms participated in Conestoga Wagon races, vicariously traveling across the Overland Trails of the Old West in the hope of creating better lives for themselves. The activity integrated many classroom core subjects and motivated all students to do their best. Most student-made wagons reached their intended destinations west and for those few students that did not make it to the trails' end, they faced poverty, illness, and starvation with both courage and grace.

Do you know an outstanding teacher?
Twin Rivers Unified School District is pleased to participate in the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year program through the Sacramento County Office of Education.

2016-17 Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program Grant
Our students will receive fresh fruit and vegetable four times a week. The purpose of the grant is threefold: to create a healthier school environment; to expand the variety of fruits and vegetables that children experience and consume; and to make a difference in children's diets that will impact their present and future health. The fresh fruit and vegetables will be consumed either before or after lunch. If you have any questions about the grant, please talk to Mr. Macias.
